Some Free Songs and Some Great Music

To promote its annual September iTunes Festival, Apple is giving away six songs from some of the artists.  The songs are:

  • Chain My Name by POLICA
  • The Curse by Agnes Obel
  • My Love Took Me Down the River to Silence Me by Little Green Cars
  • Trying to be Cool by Phoenix
  • Workin’ Woman Blues by Valerie June
  • 2013 by Primal Scream

The iTunes Festival runs the entire month of September, usually with two artists each day.  While I haven’t heard of many of the artists, some of the more notable are Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Robin Thicke and John Legend.  You can get the full schedule here.

You can stream the shows live or on demand for free with the iTunes Festival app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, on your computer with iTunes, or on your TV with Apple TV.

To get the free songs:

Step 1:  Open the Apple Store app.

Step 2:  Tap ’30 nights of music’.

Since I never heard of any of these artists, I was a little leery of the music.   But much to my surprise, the music, for the most part, is pretty good.
