Snagit logoYes folks, the wonderful people at TechSmith have kindly donated 5 licenses for the brilliant Snagit 11.2 for us to give away to our subscribers… competition ends 7th April.
This is the very latest, recently updated, full version of Snagit which would normally sell for $49.95us. You can win one of the 5 free licenses simply by submitting a reply to this article with a comment. *We’d prefer if you commented on the Snagit software.

*If your comment does not appear immediately it is because first comments need to be moderated, it will appear shortly!

Snagit is the Rolls Royce of screen capture software, it’s one of those rare unmatchable products which is just head and shoulders above all else on offer – it’s Snagit first and daylight second.

Both myself and Dave have been using Snagit for many years to, among other things, create screenshots for our DCT articles. Snagit’s overall feature-set and its range of editing and annotation tools are unparalleled – and this very latest version sees the introduction of even more enhancements and features.

Snagit 11 interface

What’s new in Snagit 11

  • OneClick – Quickly capture what you need, when you need it. No matter what program or browser you’re using, Snagit OneClick stays on top of your current window – always available when you need it. Get instant access to image and video capture tools, hotkeys, capture profiles, and the Snagit Editor. Always ready when you are, OneClick lets you instantly capture anything on your screen.
  • Video Capture – Easily create screen videos for demos or quick reviews, and share them with anyone, anywhere. Plus, Snagit now records system audio automatically, so you’ll be able to capture sound from your computer, such as a YouTube video, during a recording without any extra effort.
  • New Stamps – Highlight and emphasize important parts of your screen captures by using newly designed stamps that make you look more professional.
  • Centered Canvas & More Zoom Options – When your capture pops up in the Snagit editor, the canvas now automatically creates a border around your image, giving you plenty of room to add annotations, arrows, and other effects. And with more zoom proportions, you’ll be able to edit your images to the exact size you need.
  • Easier Resizing & Paste from Clipboard – Whether you resize by pixels, inches, centimeters, or percentage, it’s easier than ever to edit the size of your capture. Simply copy and paste from within Snagit, and the canvas will automatically resize to the right size for your capture.
  • Spell Check – Never misspell a word in your screenshot again. Snagit will tell you what you’ve spelled wrong and help you make callouts without any mistakes.
  • New Outputs & Sharing Options Save, share, or send your image and video captures to anyone with a variety of outputs. Easily send your image captures to the usual lot, or now share to Facebook, Twitter, and Evernote too. When you’re done recording or capturing a screen video, you can choose to send your video to Camtasia Studio for editing or Screencast.com, YouTube, FTP, Facebook, or Twitter for easy sharing.

In a nutshell, the new Snagit 11.2 is specifically enhanced for speed and ease of use.

Of course, you still get all the genius of Snagit’s mighty editor with its myriad of features and options

Used an older version with good results. Thanks for the chance to win the latest version.

  2. I don’t need Snagit. There is always screen print.

Of course with screen print if you only want to do a small section of the screen, you may need to open a graphics program and spend about an hour working out how to edit your image. Then there are the times you want to send an image as part of an email. Probably take you half an hour to get the picture into the email. Occasionally (actually fairly regularly) I want to capture a series of screenshots to remember how to do something. Maybe Snagit would be helpful.

You know, I think I do need it. Will it run on a steam driven XT with monochrome 13″ monitor? Does it come in 5 1/4 floppy? Is there a training course I need to attend and does it run more than one week? If you think I could manage it, it would be nice to have a free copy. Probably there are no copies available. Just an April Fools day joke.

  3. I have MS and have a hard time remembering things. SnagIt really helps me capture stuff to search and look at later. Thanks for a neat product.

  4. I’ve been using an old version of Snagit for some years with great satisfaction.
From the sound of all the improvements in the new version 11.2 it would be wonderful to get it.

  5. I do screen captures nearly every day for family history and classes I teach. Many years ago I used SnagIt and it was a good program and I’d like to have the current version to use.

  6. Thank you for this opportunity to win the latest version of this great software!

  7. Asriel Rusdyawan

SnagIT is the best option and solution for professional Capturing and recording compare to old and less features windows capturing based tool.
I wish to win this SnagIT giveaway because this software is very great to use..:-)
Please count me in too Dear Jim..

  8. I have used a much older version of Snagit for years but would love to win a copy of the latest version.
In my opinion, it has to be one of the best screen capture programs available.

  10. An extremely powerful tool for making screenshots, capture text from web pages and applications, as well as unusual, recording a video file in AVI format to what is happening on your computer desktop. The program allows you to take snapshots of all or any part of the screen (ie the active window), has a scroll function to store information that does not fit on the screen. The resulting material can be processed via the built-in editor SnagIt Editor, and enriched with additional elements such as selection, arrows, etc. with a second attached the SnagIt Studio. Despite the very extensive list of features and the English language interface, support for the program is very simple.

  11. I agree that this is like Rolls Royce 😉 Great professional program. I like the additives for MS Office.
    Thanks.

I have used SnagIt for years and find it very handy for documenting what you see on your screen. It saves you from having to write notes to yourself and keeps a record of screen captures without having to name and save each capture.

  13. I remember SnagIT right from the win95 days. A very very professional and nice utility. Back those days, I didn’t have sufficient computing power/ video ram. Now, if I become a lucky winner, would be able to work with the program nicely.
Thanks for the giveaway and please count me in.
