Starting A Cycling Workout On Your Apple Watch

It’s the little old lady again! Yep, I am here to tell you about a pretty cool thing you can do with an Apple Watch Series 10 that you may not know about. Not that I am any specialist in these departments, but when I find out about something, I always try it and then try to get other old folks to try it as well.  If you are anything like this old lady, you do not get out of bed in the morning full of vim and vigor and raring to start exercising. Don’t get me wrong! I do eventually exercise, but I need to talk myself into it a lot! Like when it is really, really cold outside or when it is really, really hot outside, or when it rains or snows. You get the picture. None of us is fond of working out. Well, I have found a way that is a bit easier. What’s that you say? Easy! Well, it isn’t going to do it for you, but check this out. I think you will like it, and if not, at least you will have learned something!

  • You can automatically connect to Bluetooth-enabled accessories to add cadence and power metrics to your cycling workout view! How cool is that?
  • You can also view estimates of your functional threshold power
  • The highest level of intensity you can maintain for an hour
  • Once you have started your cycling workout, it will automatically show up as a Live Activity on your watch
  • Then, if you tap it, it will take over the entire display, making it easier to see your metrics while on a ride

Follow the steps below and learn how:

  1. Open the Workout App on your watch
  2. Turn the digital crown to outdoor cycle or indoor cycle, and then tap the workout when you are ready to get started.

I figure that is enough to digest for today! Enjoy your ride!
