How to Disable Paste Options in Word

Microsoft WordTurns out that the Paste Options in Word can be annoying to some folks! We all know what Paste Options means, but just in case you do not, let me refresh your memory. When you copy a little nugget of text and want to paste it into your document, Word will display a little button right next to the end of your pasted information. The button is similar to the Paste tool on your Ribbon – a small clipboard with a piece of paper on it. That is the Paste Options button!

If you move your mouse over that button, you will find that it is actually a drop-down menu and if you click on it it, it will give you some options that you can then apply to the text you just pasted into your document.

If, however, like some folks, you are annoyed by that little Paste Button, you can simply turn it off and never be bothered with it again.

Follow the steps below to learn how:

  • Click the File tab of your Ribbon and then Options to display the Word Options dialog box.
  • On the left-hand side of the dialog box, click Advanced.
  • Scroll down the options available to you until you get to the Cut, Copy, and Paste section.

Show-Paste-Options2

  • Clear the Show Paste Options Buttons check box.
  • Click OK.

You will not henceforth see that annoying little button!
