Last week, we talked about how to turn off tracking on Instagram. If you missed that one, here it is:
How To Turn Off Map Location Instagram
This week, I wanted to continue to keep you informed on those mobile devices. What am I talking about? Good question. I wanted to share how you can Stay Secure Online by enabling Google Chrome Safe Browsing on your mobile device. Plus one other setting to keep you safe. That’s right, some settings can keep your information more secure when using the internet browser. Before I show you how this is done, make sure to check out these other articles I have written:

Now that you are all caught up, let’s start our lesson of the week.
How To Activate Essential Chrome Mobile Settings
This will be shown on my Motorola Edge Android phone.
Step 1: Look for the Google Chrome app on your device. Tap it.
Step 2: Once on the home screen look to the top right for the 3 dots. Tap them
Step 3: A menu will appear, and you will need to find the Settings link near the bottom. Tap It.
Step 4: On the Settings screen, find the Privacy and Security option. Tap it.
Step 5: Here, you will see the section called Security. Under that, find Safe Browsing. Tap it.
Step 6: The Safe Browsing screen will appear with some options:
- Enhanced protection
- Standard protection
- No protection
I recommend the Enhanced Protection option since it uses real-time AI to protect you. Tap the circle to the left of that option. To learn about what this one does, tap the arrow on the right of it for the Description screen. This is one way to be safer on here, but there is another one I want to cover.
Step 7: Head back to the Privacy and Security screen. Now, under Safe Browsing, there is an option you should enable.
Warn you if a password was compromised in a data breach. When you use a password, Chrome warns you if it has been published online. When doing this, your passwords and usernames are encrypted, so they can’t be read by anyone, including Google.
Tap the switch on the right to enable this feature. That is all you need to do to keep yourself a little safer on your Google Chrome app.
Now you know how to be a little safer using your Google Chrome app. Time to share your new knowledge with the world.
