Windows 11 has already gone through 5 versions, with each Home and Pro version typically receiving 2 years of full support. Which means each version is quietly counting down to its expiration date.
Once a version expires (reaches end-of-life), it no longer receives any updates, including critical security updates. So, it’s important to make sure your version is still supported.
Many Windows 11 users don’t even realize their version is no longer supported until they start wondering why they are not receiving any more updates, by which time it is quite possible their system has been compromised.
Here then is a list of the expiration dates for each Windows 11 Home and Pro version starting with the initial release in October 2021:
- Version 21H2: Released October 2021 – Reached End-of-Life October 2023 (no longer supported)
- Version 22H2: Released September 2022 – Reached End-of-Life October 2024 (no longer supported)
- Version 23H2: Released October 2023 – Reached End-of Life November 2025 (no longer supported)
- Version 24H2: Released September 2024 – Reaches End-of-Life October 2026 (supported until October 2026)
- Version 25H2: Released September 2025 – Reaches End-of-Life October 2027 (supported until October 2027)
As you can see, Windows 11 24H2 is nearing end-of-life, so if you’re still running 24H2, please consider updating to 25H2 soon, or at least before October 13, 2026.

I realize this information is freely available online, but for the casual user, the manner in which it is presented does not make it all that easy to find, and it is far too important to leave up to chance. Hence this reminder.
