I was trying to make up a card with “Hallmark Card Studio” when I kept getting an internet connection error. It couldn’t connect to the server, and I couldn’t open any of the listed templates or clip art.
For the first time after using this program for a few years, I realized it depends on an active internet connection. The biggest problem was that there was no problem with my internet. It’s been like this for a few days now.
I’ve checked online for a solution, and the problem seems to be on their end. They are upgrading their servers.
I did find a way to use it. I usually save a copy of the cards I create. If I double-click on one of these saved cards with the HMK extension, it will open in the program editor. You’ll still get an occasional “server” pop-up error. Please ignore it.
You can’t use any of the built-in clip art, but you can import your own by clicking on the “Photo” button. The “Text” and “Greetings” tools are also usable. So it seems like only the artwork is affected.
Hopefully, once their service is upgraded, the program will work as it should with all its bells and whistles.
