Since our previous Windows 8.1 giveaway was so well received Daves Computer Tips is offering our subscribers a second chance to win a copy of Windows 8.1 64-bit, including installation media and genuine product key, absolutely free!

With the recent Windows XP End Of Life we’re sure many readers will be looking to update their operating system, or build new computers, making this a timely and useful prize.

DCT is pretty much the ‘home’ of Windows 8/8.1. Dave, myself, Richard, and Marc are all running Windows 8.1 and we all like the new operating system. Between us, we have written and published numerous articles, all drawn from first hand experience – guides, tips, how-tos, and the like – to help users setup and manage their new operating system making DCT a terrific resource for anyone running Windows 8.1 and you can access all those articles in the one place by visiting the Windows 8 Category in the right hand navigation panel.

  1. Thanks for such a great giveaway!

I already have Windows 8.1 on my system but I could REALLY use another copy for a system I am building for my wife who is a medical transcriptionist.

    1. Ed,
I’ve checked the contest entries and you are correct there is only one entry showing for your email address. There are numerous other entrants with the correct number of entries and no other complaints. Is it possible that you have javascript disabled – or are blocking one of the scripts running on DCT?

  2. Thank you Jim, for your kindness in offering a worthy product, and a chance to win something good in our crumbling society, which offers the public
    little indeed.

  3. Thank you Jim for this offer….This could help me exit from Win XP for good with no fears.

  4. Eu quero atualizar o meu computador para um sistema operacional mais recente e fácil de usar.

  5. I’ll use it in a round-about 2 computer upgrade. I’d upgrade my 7 to 8.1 and then my XP to 7. Since I have a game on my XP that will not work with 8.1 but will on 7.

  6. Thanks Jim, Love your giveaways, simple and easy to read.
Shared on Facebook, Twitter and Google+

    Good Luck everyone!

  7. This is a great opportunity! Thank you very much. I would really love to upgrade my pc, this is a great chance indeed. Please count me in on the draw. Thank you and GOD Bless everyone here 🙂

  8. I would upgrade my 5 years old system and enjoy the new possibilities Windows 8.1 provides.

  9. I’d love to give Win8 a whirl, but can’t afford it. Thanks for the chance guys!
    Good luck to all!

  10. On all my laptops I have Windows 8.1 . Only one missing Windows 8.1 is my gaming PC. Love to win an update that system to Windows 8.1

  11. Robert Rozijn

I have Windows 7 on my laptop and this is a great opportunity to upgrade it to Windows 8.1.

  12. Thanks for this opportunity Jim. Love ‘Dave’s Computer Tips’. I’m already running this version of Win but as per my previous attempt at this prize I’m attempting to win for a retired female neighbour and a friend of my wife who is still running XP. I’m hoping if I win and present her with a copy of Win 8.1 she’ll have no option but to let me upgrade her to the ‘better protected’ version. Again many thanks.

I hated Windows 8 when I first got an HP desktop with Windows 8 pre-installed. But after I found out about and installed Start Menu 8, I soon got used to it – although I still don’t like the way I have to exit one game app and then go back to the Metro screen to select a different game to play! However I would love to install Windows 8.1 x 64 bit on my old Acer desktop that I keep as a spare;-)

  14. I just bought a laptop for my daughter who just started college. She ask me questions about how to do thing on Windows 8 but since I use Windows 7 most of the time I don’t know the answer. I will like to upgrade my Win 7 system so I can learn it and be able to help my daughter. Thanks for the opportunity.
