Brave Surpasses 100 Million Users Per Month

According to a recent announcement, the privacy-centric Brave browser has now surpassed 100 million active users per month, the only browser that is making inroads into Chrome’s domination.

The browser achieved 50 million users in 2023, which has now doubled to over 100+ million, with more than 42 million daily active users. This is an impressive milestone for Brave and a solid indication that more and more users are prioritizing privacy.

Brave Search Growing Fast

Although only comparatively new, Brave Search has already attracted an impressive following with more than 1.6 billion queries each month, equating to almost 20 billion queries per year. I’ve had Brave search as my default search engine for some time now, but I do have a small problem with it.

While I am happy with the content of the search results, it insists on displaying results from the US only, even though I have set the filter to Australia. This is something the Brave developers need to look into because it’s forcing me to use an alternative search engine on occasions when I want results from Australia only, and I suspect that if it’s causing a nuisance for me, many others will be similarly affected.

Brave Shields

Brave browser ships with built-in privacy measures, known as Shields, a feature that has undoubtedly played a role in the browser’s rising popularity. By default, Shields block ads and third-party trackers, cross-site cookies, phishing, fingerprinting, and more. Plus, they can be easily disabled for specific sites as required.

We have written about the Brave browser previously, and it has long been one of my most frequent recommendations.
