Video Clips: Fastest Train in the World + Firestorm on the Sun


Neither of these video clips involves computers, mobile devices or the internet, but they are technology related nonetheless and I hope some of you find them as interesting as I did.

This first video clip explains the technology behind the Maglev train, the fastest train in the world (581km/h). The train is not yet up and running commercially as costs are proving a deterrent. Engineers are still working on ways to decrease overheads so commercial interests can take advantage this new technology (5:19):

This amazing clip of looping fiery rain on the Sun was filmed by NASA over a period of almost 10 hours and edited down to a 4:17 clip:
