How To Turn Off Paste In Excel 365

Do not ask me why, but some users find the Paste icon to be distracting when they are working on an Excel worksheet. It does not bother me but to each his own! Should you be one of those folks it does bother, as was the client that asked me how to get rid of it, there is a way to do it.

Follow the steps below to learn how:

  1. Click File | Options.
  2. On the left-hand side, under Excel Options, click Advanced.
  3. In the Cut, Copy and Paste group, deselect Show Paste Options Button when Content is pasted.
  4. Click OK.

Easy enough to do right? If you should change your mind in the future, simply follow the steps above and select what you previously deselected.
