This week, I have decided to talk about the Instagram app. I have written many articles about this app and have found something new to share with you. While I was scrolling through my feed, I noticed Reel Suggestions. Instagram gives you Reel Suggestions in the middle of your feed. This started irritating me a little (must have been hungry), so I wanted to find out how to stop them. With a little research, I found out how to hide these from my view. How To Hide Suggested Reels On Instagram

This will be shown on my Motorola Edge Android phone using the Instagram App. I will show you how to hide them and how you can turn them back on.

How to Hide

Step 1: Find the Instagram App on your device and tap it.

Step 2: On the home screen, you can scroll down and should see a section called Suggested reels. To the top right of that, you will see three dots. Tap them, and then a Hide option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap that.

Step 3: A menu will appear in the middle of the screen. Here you have some choices:

Snooze all suggested sets of reels in feed for 30 days
Manage content preferences. (This will take you to that option on the settings screen)

As you can see, you are only allowed to turn them off for 30 days at a time. For this article, we want the top option, so Tap it. A confirmation will appear so you know it is done. Since these suggestions have been snoozed, let me show you where you can turn them back on if you change your mind before 30 days.

How To Unhide

Step 1: Look at the bottom right for your profile link. Tap it.

Step 2: Now you are on your Profile Page. From here, look to the top right and tap the 3 horizontal lines.

Step 3: You will now be on your Settings and activity menu screen. Scroll down until you find the section called “What you see.” In this section, look for Content preferences. Tap it.

Step 4: We are now on the Content preferences screen. Here you will see the option Snooze sets of suggested reels in feed, and to the right of it is a switch. Tap it, and the snooze will be turned off. This option only shows here if you have hidden the suggestions. DONE.

You now know how to hide the suggested reels from your Instagram feed. Time to share your new knowledge with all your friends.
