So you wrote down all your notes and you did so with handwriting. Now you want to use these same notes in a paper that needs to be handed in at school and it must be in text. Well, you certainly do not want to key in all that information, do you? Luckily, you do not have to. There is a quick and easy solution to your problem.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- From the Draw menu, use the Lasso Tool to select your handwritten text.
- Now click Ink to Text to instantly convert your handwriting to text.
And guess what? All colors, capitalization, and sizes will remain as they were in handwriting!
It doesn’t get much easier than that my friends.

In your use of the word “Handwriting,” are you referring to software that allows one to handwrite on a device that is converted to digital? Or, is the Handwriting on a paper document scanned into the program?

Nice tip Carol but I think you’re a little ahead of some of us. Which app/menu do we use to access the Draw function? I’m also assuming that the document would need to be a scanned document first?

I never noticed the Draw function in OneNote. I was able to painstakingly use the mouse to create a word on my desktop computer and convert it to text. However, OneNote on my Android phone lacks the Convert to Text option. Am I missing something about the phone?

Regarding your questions about your phone, I regret I cannot answer you as I have an Apple Iphone and do not have OneNote installed on it.
