This week, I wanted to change gears and talk about the Samsung Android phone. If you have been following me for a while, you know I write articles about this device. The reason I wanted to give you another valuable tip is due to my wife. She received an unwanted update on her Samsung Galaxy S22 phone. This update made her App drawer (or you might call it an App screen) scroll up and down and not page from side to side. As with any unwanted update, you always seem to have to change everything back to the way you like it! I did a little research because I’m a wonderful husband, and found out how to change it back. How To Change Scroll Direction On Samsung
This will be shown using my wife’s Samsung Galaxy S22 Android phone. I wanted to change her scroll direction from up and down to side scrolling (paging). That is what we will go over here.
Step 1: Turn on your device and on the home screen, swipe up from the bottom.
Step 2: This will bring up the App Drawer, where all the apps reside. Looking at the bottom, you will see a search box. In this search box, on the right, are 3 dots. Tap on them.
Step 3: That will bring up a menu with two choices:
- Sort
- Settings
On this menu, we will want to tap on the Sort option. Tap it.
Step 4: Another menu will appear with two more choices:
- Customer order
- Alphabetical order
As you can see, we have Alphabetical selected (check marked), but we want to tap the Custom order option. Tap that.
Step 5: That option will change it to side scroll. The way they show this is at the bottom middle of your screen; you will see the page dots. This indicates that you are now in side-scrolling. Done.
Now, if you wanted to switch it back, all you need to do is tap on the Alphabetical order option in Step 4.
