As you all know, I am trying to go forward and learn how to use my Apple gifts, namely my iPad and my Apple Watch. It is slow going, but I am slogging along and being surprised I must say about how much easier it is than I had originally thought it would be!
It may sound like such a simple thing, but I really did not know how to change or turn off sounds. Since I wanted to use an iPad so that I could watch video tutorials while I sewed, I figured that this would be a good place to start learning!
Follow the steps below and learn along with me:
To Change or Turn off Sounds:
- In Settings, change or turn off the sounds, iPad will play when you get a call, text message, email, reminder, or any other sort of notification
- To temporarily silence incoming calls, alerts, and sound effects, turn on Do Not Disturb
- Set sound options
- Set options for alert tones and ringtones, and ringer and alert volumes
- Go to Settings | Sounds
- Drag the slider to set your volume for ringer and alerts
- Tap Ringtone and other options to select sounds for the ringtone and alert tones
- You can also change the sounds the iPad plays according to certain people
- Simply go to Contacts, tap the person’s name, tap Edit, then choose a ringtone and text tone
- Silence iPad
- To temporarily silence incoming calls, alerts, and sound effects, open Control Center, tap Focus, and tap Do Not Disturb
