Was the Makita Tool kit contest offer a scam? They wanted $4.95 on my credit card saying I won a set of Makita tools. This started when I went on your site. I did not give my credit card info whoever held the contest on Dec. 3, 2023.

We have never run a giveaway contest for anything other than computer-related software. Also, we begin all contests on Fridays.
The whole point of a giveaway contest is to give a DCT reader the chance to win a free copy of the software in question. We would never penalize you for winning! The key word here is, “giveaway”.
