Hi David,
Have a read here[/url:fcz78cw0], here[/url:fcz78cw0] (about in the middle, Wolfgang Eitel's post) and here[/url:fcz78cw0].
Is it your case?
In general, these DCOM errors show up if you have a disabled service that's needed for another service to run properly.
I am human
Hi David - This error could be caused by an application trying to connect while the UPnP service is disabled.
Is this happening after a specific action; e.g. opening a particular application - such as windows Media Player? Or is it random?
Do you have torrent manager software installed, such as uTorrent or BitTorrent? Or any P2P software?
Please go to [b:wkjyn2v1]Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools[/b:wkjyn2v1]. From the list of tools, double click and open [b:wkjyn2v1]Services[/b:wkjyn2v1]. Scroll down and locate both the "UPnP Device Host" service and the "SSDP Discovery" service and let us know what each is currently set to - i.e. Manual, Disabled, Automatic.
Cheers...Jim

Hi Mate:
It is random.
To the best of my knowledge I do not have a torrent manager software installed.
SSDP IS STARTED AND ON AUTOMATIC
UPNP IS DISABLED.
Thanks...............
Cheers,
David

That's most likely the problem then mate - should be set to "Manual" by default.
You will need to change the startup type to "Manual": Double click on the UPnP entry in 'Services' and a new window will open. About half way down that window you will see "Startup type:". Use the drop down menu to select "Manual". Click [b:221ppo5w]Apply[/b:221ppo5w] and close out. Reboot the machine.
That should fix it.
