Hi everybody! I am new to this computer stuff and I don't know how to get back on to my administrator icon ( I don't know my password anymore, I can get on as one of the kids but thats all. Is there any way that I can find out what it is or, get past it , or get around it, or something? Some one please help!
Hey Sleepy - What are the other six up too??? LOL
There is a built in administrator account in Vista which can be enabled via command prompt. You must enable this administrator account, restart the computer, log on via the newly enabled administrator account and then go into StartControl PanelUser Accounts and change the setings for the old account. Not sure if you can simply change the password without knowing the old one...you may have to set up a completely new user account at administrator level. Ziggie or Dave would know better than I.
Anyway, here is a link to a site which describes (with pictures) how to enable the built-in (some people refer to it as 'hidden') administrator account in Vista. Have a look through and decide if you are confident enough to give it a go: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows- ... ows-vista/
Let us know,
Cheers....JIM
