I am having a problem getting Wndows Updates. I was only able to install 50% of the Oct and Nov updates. I tried again today to install the Oct and Nov updates but the installaion has stalled for more than 3 hours stating "Preparing to Install". I also have been unable to get the Dec updates to come up for upadate.I check each day and nothing so far. I can't think of any reason. I have not changed anything including Security settings, Zone Alarm or AVG Antivirus. I have not installed any new programs, only updates. I am getting very concerned about my unpatched system. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Hey PJ - Try this.......Go into 'Windows Update' and select 'Change Settings'...now select the option to 'Never check for updates', make sure everything else in unchecked then click on 'OK'. Now reboot the machine, when booted back up go into Windows Updates and change the settings back to what they were before you made the changes.

Sounds silly I know but it often works.

cheers...JIM
