Thanks gents for the replies. I checked the win patrol IE helpers and there was 3 BHO's in there so i disabled them. Incidently, what are BHO's and what do they stand for?

BHO stands for Browser Helper Object. They are plug-ins which add features or functionality to the browser - not that different to extensions or add-ons.
