Hello,

I have attempted several time to create a system repair disc.

Here's my error message " Unspecified Error (0x800040050) "

 

??

delete the last "0" in the message code......duhhh

Hi Terry - Which anti-vrius program are you using?

Try this; temporarily disable your AV and see if you can now create the system recovery disc.

You could also try running the system repair disc creator tool as Administrator: Go to Start>All Programs>Maintenance, expand the Maintenance folder, right click on "Create a System Repair Disc" and select "Run as Administrator".

Using Zone Alarm AV

No luck either way.

Can I use a repair disc from my wife's W7 computer?

Yep, just so long as both operating systems are 32-bit or both are 64-bit. No problem.
