Communication Port in Device Manager .

Properties show the following message :-

Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34).

A Program I need to install uses Com ports .

How do I rectify this Problem ?

Regards

Flynne

Hello,

Not sure I can help a lot to solve this, but maybe I can help to ask the question, which in turn can help to find an answer.

In the devices manager, when I double click on a device, I see a properties dialogue box, with four tabs:
. General
. Drivers
. Details
. Events

(I translate from French, I do not suppose there is any problem with that.)

In the Events tab, for some devices (that happen to run very well) I see that they require their installation to be finished.

Is something like that the problem?

Did you try and launch the installation program that was provided with the device again?
Did it provide any interesting information?
