Yesterday I woke up to both computer screens saying "No Signal". My graphics card is built it so I install an older card so I can see one of the screens. Windows won't boot. It gets halfway thru and the screen goes black. However, it will boot in safe mode.
Of course, I have everything backed up and I have a repair disc. I set the bios to boot from the DVD. The machine will NOT boot from the repair disk...period.... Every once in a while I get a blue screen asking me to choose my keyboard preference...sure...my keyboards both USB and wireless are disabled at this point. This is a dual boot system. I have run Mals and my Avast Pro anti-virus with no problems. Internet connection and sound are now disabled.

All I can say at this point is to reformat and reinstall W10.

I removed the MOBO battery and re-installed. W10 will now boot after a prolonged wait. 100 secs
However, I cannot access the "Settings" menu or the advanced Start up menu.
I have tried to use the system image backup but when clicking on it I receive a message that it is not initialized.
My #2 HDMI monitor still has no contact with the machine.
I am hesitant to restart. The machine will still not boot from the recovery DVD.

Thanks

If this is a dual boot, then what is the other OS and is it on a separate drive?

Pull the plug on W10 and see if you can get W7 to boot.

If you can boot into W7, then I would download the latest W10 Media Creation Tool. You can either burn a DVD, or create a bootable USB or you can mount the ISO while in W7.
This tool should check for compatibility issues, which it sounds like you may be having.

If you have already installed W10 then your key should be already on a Microsoft server. It has been awhile since I have had to reinstall W10. If I remember their should be an option to not input the key. I usually go ahead and install W10 and after install I reboot and W10 will show as being activated. This would only apply if your previous W10 install was good.
You should still be able to install W10 and then use the change product key and then input your key.

No option to enter at a later date. This is the W7 drive that I am using and I also have no internet connection for whatever reason. Machine is hardwired to ethernet with another machine (this one) that has connection.
Now, the option to boot from the W10 drive does not appear. It shows in the BIOS just does not appear after leaving the BIOS load screen.

Hit the windows key + R and type msconfig in the run box and uncheck safe boot under the boot tab and check normal boot under the general tab. Mine is set as selective boot.
