Zemana Antimalware Freezes During Scan

Ever since Zemana AntiMalware blocked Telegram trojan before opening the application, there were previously no trojan alerts using Telegram. Zemana AntiMalware stalls 1-3 seconds during scanning.

I have reinstalled it a few times to see if it improved and contacted Zemana for help with no success. I searched my computer for the telegram trojan https://www.forbes.com/sites/zakdoffman/2021/04/22/forget-whatsapp-new-telegram-warning-for-millions-of-windows-10-users/?sh=611d47e07857 C:\Users\ToxicEye
at.exe

I switched off all advanced system care pro additional automatic features in case it conflicts with zemana antimalware. I have Norton 360, Iobit Uninstaller and zemana anti logger and a few other programs installed, but zemana anti-malware previously worked alongside other installed programs.

How can I resolve freezing antimalware, please?

Thank you

Hi emmasmith,

The first thing I would do is disable all your antivirus programs except for the one you really want to use.

Running all those antimalware utilities at the same time might be causing conflict.

Try that and let us know how that goes for you,
Richard

Hi,

I uninstalled advanced system care, Zemana antilogger and Zemana antispyware. Restarted computer then installed antispyware and scanned it cut out at 2 seconds. I then tried to scan with Norton protection off with no luck.

Hi emmasmith,
You seem to be missing the point. Uninstall everything antimalware-related except for the software you intend to use on a daily basis. If it's Norton you want, then use that and uninstall everything else.
Once that is done, use your chosen program and nothing else. You can run manual scans with some programs that you don't install (portable).

One exception might be MalwareBytes AntiMalware (MBAM). You can usually run that side by side with other antivirus programs because it checks for different things.

Again, install one and only one antivirus program at a time on your computer.

Hi,

Thank you for explaining things better.

I did not realise Norton360 includes Antimalware. Zemana antilogger works alongside Norton great. I will uninstall Zemana Antimalware.

From Emma.

Howdy emmasmith,

I'm glad we could help you figure it out,
Richard
