You'll need the following FIRST. Caller ID from your telephone provider and the old fashioned (internal) modems (56k) and you need to leave the computer on with software installed (connection to internet is an option).
This software is truly a gem (I've not played with all the features) and still 100% recommend it. If you ever wanted to BLOCK certain unwanted callers, with this you can do so. You don't even need to know their NUMBER (because the show up as Private or Blocked or UNknown). There is an option to Zap these callers. You can even Zap specific known numbers. By Zap, after just one ring, you can send them a message (from those given or record your own), and relax (ideal if you have your own answering machine and enjoy screening your calls). Almost forgot to include the link, Mindblower!

Will this work for my cell phone? It has caller ID.
LoL
Seriously -- I used this program about 10 years ago and it was kinda fun and quirky, but then my cell phone took over as my primary phone and i haven't looked back.
Still, for those with land lines, this may be a useful tool to keep - assuming they've only made it better in 10 years.
