Hey All - Just been fixing a client's super slow laptop. As part of the process I went through the list of installed programs and was amazed to see Google Chrome weighing in at 133MB, and it is not their default browser.
Couldn't believe my eyes so checked the size of the program file folder and it is a whopping 271MB!!
Is that the norm?? My Firefox program file folder is just 31.4MB......comparatively seems way out of whack?
Cheers.....Jim

My Chrome folder is 1.3 GB. But it's my default browser.
The application folder is 273 MB. There are two versions stored in there - I have to restart my browser to update. It looks like Chrome keeps a copies of all it's application files (Dlls, exes, infs, etc) in this install directory, plus a copy of the installer.
So yeah, that feels big, but disk space is cheap. The application executable itself is less than 1 MB (995 k).
Thanks for confirming Zig, I've been waiting patiently for your response mate.

Yep, probably a bit of an understatement there mate...HUGE might be more appropriate!!

Certainly true!! Not sure I'd be terribly happy with that amount of disk space being taken up by a single browser though. <shrug>
Thanks for the info Zig, appreciated as always.

I have 260 GB drive. a 200 MB folder...not that big of a deal to me.
That said...
It is large, but it has a few versions in there. ~shrug~

After reading Jims reply to me about Chrome i changed for Fire Fox, in windows 7 uninstall a program there was no size listed so it took a bit of digging and i realised the bloat.. using broadband im not always aware of the setup size and for a browser i would have expected it to be so much lighter..
Thanks for the heads up as im not much of a google fan at the best of times as far as im concerned there is no justification.. but that just what i think and good luck to google fans.
