Hi people
what is a pocket friendly good backup and restore program? what is the minimum I can spend ? What features are better? Incremental or differential?
Need guidance.
I will be backing up on an external drive. Have Win 10 Home, Office Home and student, Dell Vstro 15.

Thanks in advance

Hey Shobha,

You can't do better than Aomei Backupper Standard, which is completely free and simple to use: https://www.ubackup.com/free-backup-software.html

Aomei also provides a good collection of step-by-step guides: https://www.ubackup.com/help/

Differential backups are far better than incremental backups, especially if one needs to restore.

Suggest you read through this article: https://davescomputertips.com/simple-guide-to-creating-restoring-images-part-2/

And also part one of the same article: https://davescomputertips.com/simple-guide-to-creating-restoring-system-images-part-1/

Cheers... Jim

Thanks Jim I have set it up for back up, and it sis system backup. I feel little stupid in asking, but when I want to know what about rest of my data? Only option available is files and folders. Do I have to backup each folder manually? It seems so to me. Please guide. Thanks.

Hey Shobha - It depends on how your system is setup. Are you saving all your personal data - Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc. - on the system (C) drive? Or is your personal data saved on a separate drive or partition?

If everything is saved on the system (C) drive/partition, including your personal data, then all you need do is create a system backup and everything will be included.

You can also "explore" an image backup by mounting it and it will display and open under This PC just like any other drive. You can then see exactly what has been saved in the image.
