Will GTA VI Be The Game We Hope For?

In May 2025, Rockstar Games confirmed that the much-anticipated GTA VI will be released on May 26, 2026. But there was no mention of which platforms it would be released on. One has to assume that consoles will be first, followed by PCs a year later, or possibly two, which is what happened with GTA V, which was released for consoles in 2013 and PCs in 2015.

Will GTA VI Be As Outrageous?

According to rumours it will be outrageously expensive, ranging from $70 to $110, depending on the edition, but will it follow in its predecessor’s violent and totally politically incorrect tone? Although I haven’t played GTA V for a while, I do recall that I was able to run over pedestrians, interact up close and personal in pole dancing clubs, shoot police officers willy-nilly, and use foul language that today may be considered way over the top.

I wrote about the release trailer for GTA VI back in 2023 in New GTA 6 Trailer Racks Up 78M Views, and clearly, fans of the game are speculating on the tone the new game will take. My feeling is that Rockstar will bow to pressure from the woke community and beyond because, let’s face it, much has happened since 2013. Some gamers have been demanding more inclusion for minorities, LGBTQ+, etc, and we know from the trailer that the two protagonists are young, male and female Latinos set in Vice City, a fictional Miami.

Many games now allow the player to choose inclusive pronouns and avatars for the protagonists, but for my part, I hope that GTA VI sticks to what it has always done best – being outrageous.
