Your old fuddydud is back with more information on your Apple iPhone. Who knew there were so many different things that you could learn about a phone??? Surely not me! But I do endeavor to stay on top of things, and so I scrounge around and find different things I can use that I never knew existed! And lucky you! I am going to share them with you! Not all at once, of course, but a little bit here and a little bit there. We older folks need more time to let these things settle in sometimes. So, let’s get started, shall we?
The Control Center – what is it and why do we need it? More importantly, HOW do we use it??
The Control Center on your iPhone is a panel that can be quickly accessed and opened by swiping down from your top-right corner, which provides you with immediate access to all of your frequently used settings and tools (i.e., Wi-Fi, brightness, volume, flashlight, and media controls). It is highly and easily customizable, which means that it will allow you to add, remove, and rearrange controls for your favorite apps and features, even third-party app controls and organized pages for different categories. Ok, now that we have that out of the way, let’s go a bit deeper. Let’s actually try something! First and foremost, you should know that you can access your Control Center from anywhere on your iPhone, including your Lock screen and when you are inside an app. I know, sounds scary, huh? We will cover that another day.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Open your Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of your screen to open it.
- Tap a control to turn a feature either on or off.
- Touch and hold a control to open a large menu of options.
- Swipe up or down between different pages of control.
That’s enough for a start. Stay tuned!
