Were you aware that you could track your sleep habits using your watch? I know! Crazy huh?? Yes, it may seem crazy, but it is true, you can actually do this! I was gobsmacked when I found out about this. What’s next? Geez, I’m kind of afraid to ask!
But if you have reason to know what your body is doing while you sleep, your watch will absolutely take care of this for you, believe it or not!
Follow the steps below to learn how:
I will tell you straight off that you must have a 30% battery and watchOS 8 or later.
To use sleep tracking on your Watch, you will need to set up a sleep schedule in the Health app on your phone.
You will find that under Browse | Sleep| or right in the Sleep app on your watch.
You will need to be sure Track Sleep has been enabled in your watch app settings.
Then all you will need to do is simply wear your watch to bed!
It will automatically track your sleep, and you will be able to view the data in the Sleep app.
To use your watch for Sleep Tracking, the following information is very helpful.
Set up: Open the Sleep app on your watch and follow the directions to define your own sleep goal, wind-down time, and schedule.
Enable Tracking: Go to your watch app on your iPhone, select Sleep, and be sure Track Sleep with Apple Watch has been turned on.
Activate Sleep Focus: Your watch will automatically enter Sleep Focus (your screen will dim, notifications will be silent) based on your schedule.
However, you can also manually activate it via the Control Center (the moon icon).
Viewing your Data: When you rise, open the Sleep app on your watch, and you will see your sleep stages (REM, Core, Deep), time awake, and sleep score.
Important – Charge Reminder: Turn on Charging Reminders in your watch app to be certain your watch has enough battery for the night.
I don’t know about you, but I think that is pretty darn cool. Rumor has it, though, that it will also tell you how many times you pass gas if you want it to!!
