Huh??? Yeah, I know it does sound a bit weird, even to me! But I remember way back when I was a paralegal and worked in large law firms, I was always trying to find ways to get things done quickly and easily. Sound familiar? Yep, I really did learn how to do things quickly while I worked. And what better way to save time than on your iPhone, right? Who has time to write long words when they can very easily use the same word with less tapping! It took me a while to figure this out, and I was so pleased with it, I figured lots of other folks could benefit from this information. You can actually create shortcuts for words just like I did when I was typing long documents at work! You can make “b t s” turn into be there soon.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Go to Settings | General | Keyboard | Text Replacement.
- You can then add your own shortcut for the phrases you use often.
- Tap the plus icon, enter your full phrase.
- Then enter your short shortcut (i.e., b t s).
- Now, when you key in your shortcut and a space, your full phrase will automatically appear.
