Normally, when an application becomes unresponsive and hangs, we’d need to bring up Task Manager, locate the process, and then end that task. However, in Windows 11, there is a setting that adds an “End task” option to the right-click context menu.
Enable The End Task Option
The option in my Windows 11 25H2 was enabled by default. To make sure the option is enabled for you:
- Navigate to Settings > System > Advanced
- Make sure the End task option is enabled (switched to On)
How End Task Works
If an application becomes unresponsive and hangs, right-click its icon in the Taskbar and select the option to End task:
Now, I realize this is hardly the tip of the century, but it’s a time saver and something you might not be aware of – I wasn’t aware of it until very recently.
