I’m not sure about you, but I have thousands of photos on my iPhone. You know how it goes – every new baby step, the first day of kindergarten, and so on. You have the family over, and all of them are there for the holidays, and you must have those shots. And it is not only the pictures of the little ones either. I know with my family, there is always a family photo for each family that has to be taken. I usually end up taking at least three for each family so they can decide which they like best. In any event, you get the picture. No pun intended!
Then comes the fun part, after everyone has left, and you flop and relax. It could be a month or several months before you decide you need those photos. Am I right? And there’s the rub. I now have to slog through thousands of photos to find the family photos that I took months ago! But wait! There is a much easier way to do this! You may be surprised to learn that your phone actually recognizes groups of people and even animals that appear together in your photos and videos! You may be equally surprised to learn that your phone will also sort them into collections (i.e, if you have lots of pictures of your family or groups of friends), Photos creates a collection for each of those groups.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Go to the Photos app on your iPhone.
- Tap Collections and then tap People and Pets.
- Swipe collections below Groups, or tap Groups to view them all.
- Tap a group to view all the photos and videos in that collection.
- Should you want to view pictures of this group with more people, tap View Options, then tap Other People.
