If you have an old iPhone and are dreaming about the iPhone 6, Verizon Wireless can make that dream come true at no initial cost to you. If you trade in your old iPhone (4, 4s, 5, 5c, 5s), Verizon will give you a $200 gift card good toward a 16GB iPhone 6, which is priced at $199. You must, of course, sign a 2-year contract. Note that this deal is not offered for the 64GB or 128GB models nor is it offered for any iPhone 6 Plus model.
As is the standard practice with older models, the 8GB iPhone 5c will be free as well. However, a free version of a new model is rare, if not unprecedented.
Pre-orders for both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be placed starting at 12:01 AM PST on Friday, September 12th. They will be on sale starting Friday, September 19th.
Sprint is planning on introducing a $50 unlimited data plan for both new iPhones. For its part, T-Mobile will match any other carrier’s trade-in value and also throw in a $50 credit.
