In 1838, Samuel Morse made the first public demonstration of the telegraph.
The demonstration occurred the Speedwell Iron Works in Morristown, New Jersey. It was another six years before sent his famous “What hath God wrought!” telegraph.

In 1987, Astronomers at University of California saw the first sight of birth of a galaxy.
They detected evidence that perhaps a billion suns ignited within a huge gas cloud 71 billion trillion miles from Earth.
