In 1987, IBM introduced the PS/2 as well as OS/2.

The Personal System 2 computer ranged in price from $2,595 to $10,895. There were four models offered, with processors ranging from the 8 MHz 8086 to the 20 MHz 80386. The OS/2 operating system was also released at the same time. Most buyers, however, continued to use DOS.
