Hey guys, I have a question that I'm sure Jim can answer. My buddy has a Win XP computer. It was a Win XP Home that now has Win XP Pro installed on it. Well the XP Pro seems to be having a problem of sorts. My buddy has the OEM disk of XP Home that originally came with the computer. What he wants to know is that if used the XP Home disk, will it install XP Home back on it. He has a new Win 8 PC and this is just for his kid to use for school and homework.

Hey Claw - If your Buddy has a genuine XP Home key then sure he can re-install and activate it. Keys are edition specific and not transferable between different editions; e.g. a user cannot use a ''Pro" key to activate the "Home" edition, and vice versa.
Cheers mate... Jim

Thanks Jim I always can count on that wise mind of yours. Yea, it's a Dell XP Home disk that came with his PC, so he just will use his key on the PC. Thanks again buddy, you never let me down Jim. Keep in touch, mate.
