Jim,

I have not installed any software specifically to burn files to a CD-R   Previous to this problem the wizard always came up & would burn the files to a CD-r or a DVD RW  Maybe the guy who sold me the PC installed something to do the burning I don't see Roxio or any other burning software in the list of files.

I cannot ask the seller as he died last August

Thanks for the link,  I downloaded the file

Jim,

Sometimes I think I have a pea brain at my age( many moons)  Anyhow 3 years ago I got into a big project to turn my albums into MP3 and some into CD's     I had upwards of 100 albums, and the project lasted about 3 months,  I bought Roxio's EZ Cd and DVD at that time and installed it on my laptop, but then somehow had forgotten about it but finally realized that I still had the Roxio disk somewhere around here.  A diligent search finally found the disc. yesterday.

I installed it on my desktop and this morning I gave it a test run, as advertized it worked flawlessly!

So, thanks for all your help, please thank all the other folks who chimed in, for me.

Definitely not a pea brain noaxetogrind, perhaps a brain which is so full of knowledge it sometimes takes quite a while to locate the required information. I suffer from the same malady myself. Laugh

Anyhoo, glad to hear you're off and running. Oh, and Roxio make fine software.

Cheers mate... Jim
