Not sure if this belongs here, but I noticed it on my XP system.

I installed PDF-XChange Lite free, which through the Windows Explorer shows as 6.76MB in properties.
But portable free Revo Uninstaller reports its size to be 1,281.43MB!

Has anyone else noticed any such inconsistencies? Could it be a bug of the portable version?

Thanks ahead.

Hey FD - Neither of those figures seem right to me. The installer for PDF-XChange Lite is 23.4MB so I fail to see how the installed size could be a mere 6.76MB. Is that from C>Program Files?

And over one thousand mega bytes [as reported by Revo]...No, I don't think so. That would make it one of the largest installed apps on the planet [if not the largest].

Just had a look through my programs listed in Revo portable and there doesn't appear to be any inconsistencies; all reported sizes are what one would expect. Avast is the largest [at 166.82MB], Windows Live Essentials next [at 108.95MB], all the rest are well under 100MB.

Cheers....Jim

Hi Jim,

The installer for PDF-XChange Lite includes all sorts of files to fully install the PDF-XChange Viewer (the very first installer didn't include anything else than PDF-XChange Lite itself and was around 4MB).
You can still choose to install only PDF-XChange Lite, which results to the aforementioned size - that's what its folder properties say in Windows Explorer.

Weird hiccup of Revo. I can't even try to solve this by doing a clean install since it's portable.
...sigh

Yes it is weird FD....it's almost as if the decimal point has been put in the wrong place and it should read 12.8143MB. That would make more sense but then you'd also expect that miscalculation to be replicated throughout and not just for the one entry.

I could install PDF-XChange Lite myself and see what results I get in Revo if you would like me to?

Cheers....Jim

Thank you so much for the generous offer .
It would be a way to test which app's at fault, but I'm not sure if it's worth to put you through the trouble of installing it.
I myself installed it to test it against PDF Creator (it's about 1/6 of the latter one's size).

Let's wait and see if anyone else has an idea on what may be going wrong. If not, maybe I'll take upon your offer.

Thanks again.

Try reinstalling both & then check the sizes.

Also verify the size from Windows Add/Remove programs.

Hi grr,
I already said that I'm using Revo Uninstaller Portable, so there can't be any uninstall & reinstall for it.
I've already tried it with PDF-XChange Lite and the result is the same
[quote="grr":xen8vofp]Also verify the size from Windows Add/Remove programs.[/quote:xen8vofp]
Thanks for the suggestion, it brought up some interesting findings. PDF-XChange Lite is listed as the same size in (1,281.43MB). It's definetely a false report as well as it takes up around 7MB on the HD.
What's more interesting is that on my Win 7 Home Premium 64bit machine it reports its size as 10.1MB which may be correct depending on differencies between XP/7 and 32/64bit.

Sigh...

Sorry FD, I missed the portable part.

Could there be any chance that u installed any addons for PDF-XChange Lite or did an update?

Meanwhile give Advanced Uninstaller FREE a shot.
