I have been getting Microsoft notifications that my OS (XP Pro) is not genuine. (it is). I have went thru the processes to validate but when I get to the last step I get a blank window and nothing else happens.
I've tried this several times.
Thanks for your time.

Hey CT - This can happen, it shouldn't but it does.

Somewhere down the track you have installed the Windows Genuine Advantage tool via Windows Updates and that is erroneously assessing your OS as non-genuine.

Perhaps it might be best to contact MS direct about this one, either by phone or start a support ticket. There is no [i:14log06z]foolproof[/i:14log06z] self-help method to overcome this that I am aware of.

Removing the WGA tool will get rid of the messages but not fix the validation issue; instructions [url=http://blog.ashfame.com/2008/10/remove-windows-genuine-notification/:14log06z]HERE.[/url:14log06z] There is also [free] software around that will remove WGA for you (much easier).

If you remove WGA: you will then need to replace it before being allowed to download and install any Windows Updates (or software); this may overcome the validation issue (if the original tool is malfunctioning). More likely, In the end you will still need to contact MS anyway.

Cheers....Jim
