Quick question, if I do a long format, but get an error when Installing Windows starts, can I just start over by doing a quick format ??

Hey Claw - Sure you can. The only difference between regular format and quick format in XP is that a regular format additionally scans the hard drive for any bad sectors - that's what takes all the extra time. If you are pretty certain that the hard drive is okay, not damaged, then the quick format will suffice.

Cheers mate... Jim

Thanks Jim, I actually have another question for you. After the xp installation, it's a Dell PC, so I used the Dell resource CD to install the video driver and audio driver, but I noticed it also had Chipset drivers available for that PC. My question is, if the computer is running fine and there seems to be no problems, do I need to install the Chipset are just wait until the time comes and I may need it ??

Hey Claw - Windows likely installed a set of generic chipset drivers for you. It's not imperative to install the manufacturers' drivers but, although the machine should be totally usable, you may find slightly degraded performance in certain areas.

Short answer... no, you do not "need" to install the manufacturer's chipset drivers but, if it were me, I would install them.

Cheers... Jim
