Every time I try to bootup I come up with a blue screen error message stating the following:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.

Check for Viruses on your computer
Remove any newly installed Hard Drives or Hard Drive Controllers
Check your Hard Drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated
Run CHKDSK /F to check for Hard Drive corruption and then restart the computer.

Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0X0000007B

Actually, I did google the STOP message and it gave me a wealth of information that I used it to resolve my issue. It was a change I made in SATA mode in BIOS to IDE mode.

However, I do have any question about WIN 10 Compatibility with my Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop currently running the Visa Business OS.

How can I check to see if I am ready for WIN 10 after I update to WIN 7? I really need to know if the hardware I have will handle WIN 10.

Thanks for your support and have a good day!

You may have a few driver issues but that E6400 should run W10. If that machine only has 2Gig of ram then the 32Bit W10 or W7 would be a better choice. For W10 that drive really needs to be changed to an SSD.
