Confused
Hi all
Can anyone explain what Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit does in REALLLLLY simple language? Is it something that I want to add? I am using Windows 7 with Free Avast and Pro SUPERAntiSpyware. Thanks.

Read this one too: http://blogs.windows.com/itpro/2011/03/04/whats-emet-and-how-can-you-benefit-enhanced-mitigation-experience-toolkit/

Basically, EMET protects against a number of popular exploitation techniques based on common behavioral patterns.

Do you need it? No, not really. EMET is primarily designed to help protect those who are most susceptible to hacker attacks, such as servers and enterprise environments, most home users would not need EMET.

If you wanted to add an extra layer of security specifically aimed at exploit mitigation, I suggest you look at Malwarebytes Anti Exploit Free: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antiexploit/

It's pretty basic but requires zero configuration, and it does cover browser exploits, which would be the main area of concern for most home users.
