Windows 8 install from CD/DVD

I have an HP running windows 7 x64bit I purchased the CD/DVD of windows 8pro I tried running from the disk everything appears to go well until I get to where it asks for my email address I can get all the letters in but when I type the @ all I get is " inverted commas so I skip that intending to do it later but after windows 8 is fully installed I have no internet connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.Frown

Is your keyboard set to "English US"? You can check it under Control Panel>Region and Language.

On my system which is Swedish, if I press Shift and the number 2 key I get "

What you need to do on a scandiavian setup is press the Alt Gr key and the number 2 to get @

With that said I think Jim's solution should cure your problem.
