Hello,
I have a dual boot 7 & 8.1. Everything seemed all hunky dory until I ran a program (and of course after many things are all set up) that requires Framework 3.5. All the kings horses across the net did not make a successful install no matter how careful my syntax and file locations. My last effort was create an ISO disk of 8.1 and do a refresh, went all through that, the refresh failed.

One suggested re-install Win 8, do the framework 3.5 in features, THEN 8.1. this is getting painful! All that all over again.

Any input?

Hi Gord
I'm a little confused.
Are you saying that you couldn't get .NET Framework 3.5 to install?
What error messages were you receiving and which programs needed .NET, out of curiosity?

I use some scenery from Orbx for FSX that wants the old Framework.

The error was that the file could not be found when using the Image installer. Gets about 66% and says the file is not found. I tried the original OS 8 disk, a created iso disk, copied the sxs folder to another location and directed the installer to it. Nothing worked. Then the installer (offline installer) was telling me that it was successful, but I would go in to the Windows features to check and it would not be checked off as installed.

I may just use Windows 7 as 8 has joystick issues and that was my whole reason off creating a dual boot.
