How can I do a "fresh Windows 7 install" if the DVD optical drive is not working? The drive door still opens and closes and the status light blinks as though it's reading whatever disk I put in there, but then it just stops recognizing it. (no DVD icon).
I have the windows 7 disk that came with the PC, but if the dvd drive cannot be used to load the disk is there another way for a "reinstall"?

Hi Myles,

Download a Windows 7 ISO file and create a bootable USB drive with a utility called Rufus.

You can find the ISOs at the Microsoft website.

I have used this website for ISO downloads for Windows. You will have to supply the product key.
