I will soon be receiving a new workstation with Windows 7 on it at my place of employment. I have been using the "SendTo" power toy from Win 95 since I first discovered it in 1996. I use it at least once a day for selecting a number of files in Windows Exploder, right clicking, picking "Send To" and sending to "Clipboard as Name."
I recently heard that it will be impossible to install in Windows 7 and I was wondering if anyone knew of a substitute.

TIA,

Ray

Hi Ray - Yep, there is a nice freeware available from Gabriel Ponti which is very similar to the Win 95 Powertoy (only more betterer ) and definitely includes the ability to add "Clipboard as Name" to the send to menu. It's called 'Send To Toys' and supports Windows 7.

Read more and download from HERE.[/url:rpan9ayl]

There's a nice guide on using 'Send To Toys' available HERE.[/url:rpan9ayl]

Cheers.....Jim

Oh, and welcome to the forum too!!!

You are most welcome Ray, glad to have you here mate.

Is the 'Send to Toys' software suitable for you?

Jim,

It looks as if it should work. From the write up on it, it looks to be an expanded version of what I have been using.

It will likely be a couple more weeks before I get the new workstation. Then I can give it a try.

Thanks again,

Ray

Anyway, as you say...sounds the goods. Hope it works well for you.

This is an apology for originally posting this in the Digital Photography topic. I guess I have been doing too many lines in AutoCAD Map over the years and wasn't paying as much attention as I should have been. Thanks for cutting me some slack and not dropping rocks and boulders on my head. :-{)

LOL

Absolutely no apology necessary Ray. We don't really mind which section members post in...just so long as they [i:37ffestc]do[/i:37ffestc] post!

Actually, selecting the correct section for a particular comment [i:37ffestc]can[/i:37ffestc] be a tad confusing at times, especially when the subject matter has relevance in two or more categories. Take your post for example, that could fit comfortably into either the Windows 7 section or the Freeware section.

Anyway, what I'll do is transfer a copy of this topic over to the Freeware section. That way, it will be in the right place for anyone searching for similar information. I'll leave a 'shadow' copy in place in the original location....that should cover it nicely.

Absolutely no problemo!
Cheers.....Jim

Hi all.

With regard to the above I use Ultimate Windows Tweaker, which includes 'send to' as well as many other useful tweaks, and it works fine for me. It can be found at/on The windows Club, currently on version 2.2.0.0

I am using Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit and a system on Win 7 Home Premium, again 32 bit, and have had no problems on either machine using UWT.

Long delay I know but I hope this will also help you out.

Steve.
