My wife's lap top (windows 7) is giving her many error reports all of a sudden. The main error report is saying there is duplicate IP's. It is linked to internet and when you send requests to the internet, it comes back saying you are not connected. The computer actually is connected, just many error reports and the main one saying duplicate IP number. That would be our internet carrier I would presume (Comcast). Any suggestions. I am not a computer genius.
Hi Rob, and welcome to the DCT forum.
Several possibilities here, but let's start off with the simplest and most obvious fix first.
Have you power cycled your router? All that means is turning off the power to the router, leaving it off for a couple of minutes, and then switching it back on again.
That simple process will quite often fix silly little connection issues.
If you haven't tried that already, do so, and if it doesn't fix the issue, get back to us and we'll move on to something else.
