Hi Guys , i have a H.P. Laptop fitted with Windows 7. SP1 1.6Ghz. 2Gig Ram. 32bit. I have set the Power Options to Display never off but it will not stick ! I have tried "Balanced" , "High performance" and "Power Saver" settings but it just does not cooperate and even tho' the setting remains as 'Never' off it still goes to black after a time ? Any thoughts ? My Drivers are up to date and my Windows Updates also !

Some times the Laptop manufacturers will provide utilities with their units that run at Windows startup. These utilities (HP provided applications) can over ride Window's settings. The manufacturers provide the utilities as an assistance to the User but sometimes they can be a nuisance. Check out any utilites on your HP Laptop to see if they are controlling the Power Options.

Hi , me again , I think I have accidentally solved this problem, I noticed that the fault had not occurred for a while and started thinking about what changes had been made since I wrote the original letter , none came to mind at first , then I downloaded a new 'Theme' and it happened again I quickly removed it and no more problems . I have now gone thru my Themes and deleted at least half of them so far so good , I am at the moment running without one , but I do consider that it was most probably a Theme that caused the problem in the first place !
