Hi,
I have installed and (online) activated Microsoft office 2010 ProfessionalPlus.
I want to know if there is any way to backup the activation, so that in case of re-installation I could still use office- without having the need to connect it online for activation.
The reason is that I may not have internet connection, and in that case I will not be able to use office.
Thanks,
Grr
Hey Grr - Sorry for delay in replying to this one, been looking around the net for any possibilities.
Opinions are split, some say it is not possible (as it was with Office 2007) some say it is possible.....nothing proven absolutely though.
Here is how some are saying it can be done:
1) Firstly; stop the service [b:1f3xv7f8]OPPSVC[/b:1f3xv7f8] (if it is running).
2) Copy the following files to a safe location:
[b:1f3xv7f8]C:ProgramDataMicrosoftOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform tokens.dat
C:ProgramDataMicrosoftOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatformCache cache.dat[/b:1f3xv7f8]
They are the two files you will need to replace after re-install. Some say this has worked for them, others not.
The safest way Grr would be to create an image.
Cheers....Jim
